National Poetry Week Workshops
September/October 2008 at Palace Stables Heritage Centre, Armagh
Comments from Teachers
It (the workshop!) encouraged the children to think about language and not to be afraid of poetry. They had the confidence to write. It ( the workshop experience) was good and would encourage me to teach more poetry in the classroom. Jane Jackson. Year 9 teacher; The Royal school, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone.

Poetry Workshops Endorsements
Charlie worked with both our year six classes for a number of weeks and provided them with a stimulating, enjoyable and creative experience! His easy, friendly style and skilful manner ensured that the children responded well and produced a range of poetry which was excellent. We’re looking forward to him working with us again this year!
Tom Stewart, Principal, Stranmillis Primary School, Belfast.

Letter from Armagh City Council
9th October 2008
National Poetry Week at the Place Stables Heritage Centre, Armagh
Resident Poet – Charles Graham
Dear Charlie
It is with much pleasure that I thank you on behalf of all the teachers, children and Education staff for facilitating as Poet in Residence our National Poetry workshops at the Palace Stables Heritage Centre, Armagh from Monday 29th September to 3rd October 2008.
This year’s poetry week attended by over 900 students from primary and secondary schools across the Southern Education and Library Board area has been the most successful to date since its initiation in 1995.
The Education Department of Armagh City and District Council commend you for all your preparation and expertise during your week with us in Armagh and for your insight into the world and language of poetry which inspired so many of the students to pen their own poems and enter our poetry competition.
